Great app, but since it’s been updated, it often fails to record daily exposure statistics. Thanks for your response. There’s nothing I’d like to do more than make yours and the team’s day – but I’m sure you’d only want an honest 5 stars? I’ve been digging into my Galaxy 9 on a 3 hour train journey, but can’t find any limitations on your lovely app in the settings. Reinstallation looks like my last resort… (it has been recording for the last 3 days, since we began this discussion).
- Hi, thanks for your comment. This is very strange. The last update of ElectroSmart is almost one year old and nothing changed recently. Possibility: you updated Android and the new version block access to storage (check app settings). Also try uninstall/reinstall. A five stars score makes a real difference and would make the day of our team
I found this and downloaded it thinking it was something else. To my surprise lol it measures the radio frequency electromagnetic waves emitting from our electronic devices… a lot of different things I could name. The antenna of your smartphone calculates the pollution of the waves then it basically puts it in order from least to most. It shows you the name and date and time and gives recommendations on what you can do for precautions. It’s neat!
Very interesting and informative app. Those who like facts and information concerning EMF for sensitivity purposes it is a very useful tool, but also, for those who are simply curious. Living in a remote area, I found the detection of cell tower mobile data available very useful so as to find ” hot-spots”, thanks to the live detection instrument. No ads, but obviously for that you agree that non-intrusive data is collected for research purposes, which is not a problem. No profile asked for.

edit: OK, updated my rating; 4 stars because smart meters are also a big problem, and there should be a hardware option to pair (occasionally) with the app, to find strength of such fields – I know about trifield meter, but that is too expensive. original review: You must enable a no-location mode (that is, when my system GPS is off)! I won’t use my GPS, I might just want to know the radiation level, I don’t need location-based allerts or whatever reason you made the GPS mandatory ON.
- Hi, unfortunately, Android requires the localization when you scan Wi-Fi or Cellular networks. There is no way to scan without granting this permission. You will find other apps called EMF meters/detectors that do not ask this permission. They are not equivalent, they just use the magnetometer, which is a useless measure for microwave radiations.
