Stitcher user reviews :
This latest update required me to uninstall and reinstall the app just to get in, and it now appears all my listening history and favorites list has been wiped out. I’m horrified. Update 6/26/23: the above issue was never fixed. Now I’m having playback issues. The audio will skip backwards multiple times while listening, and then end early, so I’m missing full chunks of episodes. This has been going on for a while and just when I think it’s fixed, it happens again.
- Thanks for your feedback and we’re sorry to hear you’re not having a good experience! It sounds like something went wrong with your account upgrade – if you contact support[at]stitcher.com we should be able to get things sorted!
I’ve used this app for maybe ten years. It’s how I’ve always done podcasts. I’ve tried others briefly but always come back. However, a big problem that I used to only rarely encounter is now occurring practically every episode I listen to: the recording skips forward or back. If it skips back, the episode (at least sometimes) cuts off early at the end, in one case mid-sentence. At first I thought this was a uploading issue and was writing down time stops, but on revisiting the skip was gone.
I like stitcher, it’s been my go-to for podcasts for years and the app is nice. BUT, there is one thing I hate about this app with all of my heart. If you close the app while a podcast is playing, it will keep playing as a notification like some kind of app zombie. I thought turning notifications off might help, but no, it just keeps playing as a phantom app until you reopen it and press the stop button. I just want to be able to disable this feature. Please.
- Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Please contact our support team so we can report this to our developers. You can contact us from the app by going to Settings > Give Feedback > Follow Prompts. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
Fun, modern UI. Haven’t had any major bugs. Occasional weirdness when reordering the queue. Wish playing an episode did not automatically add other episodes from that show to the queue. I know multi-select is new – hope in the future you can check more than 20 at once. Biggest issue, and it is a big one – lots of shows are just not natively available in the app, and there’s no option to add from RSS feed. I’d like to make this my only podcast app, but I can’t without RSS support.
- Thanks for the suggestion! We will pass it along to our Product team for review!
Changing my review from 1 star to 4 because they actually fixed the 3 serious playback issues I was having. I think the app can improve certain things, but I appreciate that the experience has gotten so much better. Not sure if they ever added a way to prevent stitcher from automatically starting every time I push my headphone button twice. I didn’t give it permission to do this, I had to buy headphones without the button
- Thank you for the review. We appreciate having you as a listener! If you need assistance, please contact us at support[at]stitcher.com or go to Settings in the Stitcher app and select Give Feedback. We would be glad to help with this. Hope to hear from you soon.
