The official YouTube Kids app is designed for curious little minds. This free app is delightfully simple and packed full of videos, channels and playlists that kids love.
We work hard to make the videos available in the app family friendly, but no algorithm is perfect. If you ever find a video you’re concerned about, please flag it. This helps make YouTube Kids better for everyone. For more important notes for grown-ups, please see below.
DESIGNED FOR KIDS
We took out the complicated stuff to make an app even little ones can navigate — that means big buttons, easy scrolling, and instant full-screen. And when the whole family wants to enjoy their favorite videos together, everyone can watch on the big screen with Chromecast, Apple TV, game consoles, or smart TVs.
VIDEOS KIDS WILL LOVE
Kids can enjoy favorites like Sesame Street, Thomas & Friends and Talking Tom, online hits like Mother Goose Club, TuTiTu and Stampylonghead, plus anything else they’re into — sports, animals, gaming, crafts and more.
GROWN UPS ARE IN CONTROL
We know that every family is different, so we’ve included features that let grown-ups tailor the YouTube Kids experience to their family’s needs. Settings are found behind a grown-ups-only lock where you can turn off search for a more restricted experience, reducing the chance that your child will find content that you don’t want them to watch, or set the built-in timer to let kids know when it’s time to stop watching so you don’t have to.

YouTube Kids contains paid ads in order to offer the app for free. Your child may also see videos with commercial content from YouTube creators that are not Paid Ads. For more information, please check out our Parental Guide.
Videos in the app’s four categories — Shows, Learning, Music and Explore — are pre-selected from the millions of videos available on YouTube Kids using algorithms with an additional layer of human review.
Videos found in Recommended and through Search are selected by algorithms without human review. Please note, no algorithm is perfect, and even a perfect algorithm is no substitute for a parent or guardian’s judgment. You can restrict your child’s experience by turning Search off in Settings.
If your child finds a video that you feel is inappropriate, please flag the video and it will be reviewed as soon as possible.

My experience with this app has been good. But recently my daughter comes to me with login page multiple times. I noticed there is a privacy lock at bottom right, when you click that you have 2 options to chose from and when you select “I am parent”, it goes to login page. Kids accidentally press that and there is no option to get back to the main screen. Please fix that. Thanks
Has been great for our 3 year old… UNTIL they decided to add a Halloween section right at the beginning – she’s been having nightmares about witches ever since. Can only seem to block individual videos – doesn’t appear to be a way to remove the entire Halloween section?
My little girl is 2 she has learned so much from this app it’s very very enteractive songs counting abcs colors shapes your kids will love this app and you will to learning is everything for a child
good quality of video, you can choose the right video for your kids. and no ads..
This is a really good app for the little ones. Some may see the adults playing games like Mine Craft or Lego sets, is weird. But, it’s not. They are positive gammers, for all ages! It’s like your child watching Sprout, adults who act kiddish host the show, right? It’s the same as that, to me. Good app! My son loves it and laughs at the videos.
Please fix this app! My son lives this app and it will no longer open like other people have reported. It comes up as “YouTube kids has unfortunately stopped” every time, even after uninstalling and reinstalling
Every time I try to open it it says it has stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled and no help! My daughter loves this app and watches her toons on it every morning. She hates not being able to use it. And she can’t even use regular Youtube because that App as well is giving me the same issues! Please fix!!
