[App] Sand Timer
Sand Timer : Hourglass timer with great graphics, no ads & no permissions.
Great for board games, as a kitchen timer, or for telling the kids how long until bedtime.
Operate up to 8 sand timers simultaneously (each one is colored differently and selected at left of screen).
Accelerometer used – turning upside down will reverse the time and reset the timer (option to turn this off).
Set the countdown time anywhere from 1 second up to 83 days. Change timer names. Changes will be stored for next time app is run.
Notifications will be shown if the timer finishes when the app is not open.
Sand Timer user reviews :
This sand timer is neat. I like everything about it. My main suggestion, though, would be to add an animation that shows the hourglass being flipped upon tapping the reset button. I like the different-colored sands and the preset times. The 2-minute timer would be extremely useful for Tenzi. One of the cards involves setting a timer for 2 minutes and seeing how many Tenzis players can achieve in those 2 minutes. I also like that it runs in the background. Great job, Keuwlsoft
Wonderful, I use it to time my yoga practice. My only gripe would be the digital countdown, I would rather not see it at all when the sand timer starts.
Such a great timer. You can easily select any of the preset times that you have set and they always visible.
My application of this is to time my writing hours and sometimes chores or around the house. Because it motivates me to set time limits. I like the graphics, colors, different timers can all be preset. I like how if I go over the time, it still is timing. Some people said they couldn’t hear it alarm and I agree that I haven’t figured out that feature because sometimes I do hear it chirp and sometimes I don’t. I like that it doesn’t keep alarming if I go over my time limit. It really helps me keep track of exactly how much time I am writing because I can easily pause it and play it through the day so I can go take breaks to ponder something or do a bit of research or just eat lunch and do dishes.
Love this: Wonderful visual timer I use this in my classroom. Its great for the students to monitor their progress towards the end of a project and prepare themselves for transitions. I love that i can set any amount of time and I love the colors. The kids are fascinated by the sand dropping and i have to remind them to do their work, not watch the timer. 😀 Currently I use it on my phone then project it on the document camera. It would be wonderful if this could be turned into a chrome app or extension. Generalizing an accommodation like a visual timer for special needs student (Autism, traumatic brain injury, ADD, etc) where the whole class uses it helps to include special needs students in an invisible way. All kids benefit and it is not pointed out that special needs kids need the accommodation more particularly. Thank you so much!
Great app. One suggestion I’d like to make is that perhaps adding music while the timer is on too would be a nice touch. Thank you.
I love it but I use for yoga practice and its very disturbing that the sound needs to go for five seconds! Please allow us to put the alarm/ sound for less time ( 2secs or 1 secs!) And would be nice to have a gong or a tibetan bell…If you do that will be perfect!
Works nicely, but has a bug: if you stop and reset a timer, its alarm notification still goes off.
I have been using this countdown timer for about 3 or 4 years on 6 or more Android devices. I installed this app after looking at many others, never needed to try any of the others, this timer is AWSOME
Perfect for school alarms, important dates and more! Top rating! Thanks for making this!
Great app. Simple and pretty. Would be neat if you could set all of the timers to start simultaneously, or have it make a sound every minute or other set interval of time within the timer.
