DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser – Getting the privacy you deserve online

[App] DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser

DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser  Privacy, simplified.

At DuckDuckGo, we believe the Internet shouldn’t feel so creepy, and getting the privacy you deserve online should be as simple as closing the blinds.

Our app provides the privacy essentials you need to seamlessly take control of your personal information as you search and browse the web, no matter where the Internet takes you:
Escape Advertising Tracker Networks — Our Privacy Protection will block all the hidden trackers we can find, exposing the major advertising networks tracking you over time, so that you can track who’s trying to track you.
Increase Encryption Protection — We force sites to use an encrypted connection where available, protecting your data from prying eyes, like ISPs.
Search Privately — You share your most personal information with your search engine, like your financial, medical, and political questions. What you search for is your own business, which is why DuckDuckGo search doesn’t track you. Ever.
Decode Privacy Policies — We’ve partnered with Terms of Service Didn’t Read to include their scores and labels of website terms of service and privacy policies, where available.

As you search and browse, the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser shows you a Privacy Grade rating when you visit a website (A-F). This rating lets you see how protected you are at a glance, dig into the details to see who we caught trying to track you, and learn how we enhanced the underlying site’s privacy measures. The Privacy Grade is scored automatically based on the prevalence of hidden tracker networks, encryption availability, and website privacy practices.

Our app provides standard browsing functionality including bookmarks and autocomplete. In addition to strong Privacy Protection as described above, we also packed in a Fire Button that allows you to clear all your tabs and data with one tap.

Too many people believe you simply can’t expect privacy on the Internet. We’re fighting to change that, and have made it our mission to set a new standard of trust online. Install DuckDuckGo and take back your privacy!

DuckDuckGo user reviews :

This is the best browser l have ever used. Downloading is quick, notifications concerning tracking by apps is far and above what I have experienced with other apps. One issue and I don’t think the problem is Duck Duck Go. when I try to leave an app review there’s a blue circle turning on my screen and sometimes I can’t post a comment, especially if it is negative

Loved the intro when I opened the app for the first time. Has been super quick & convenient since. My only suggestion would be to have an option to open new taps within the same group so flipping back and forth between tabs would be easier. Beyond that, I have no reason to complain at all. Definitely a keeper for my phone.

Fantastic app so far. Easy to use, simple interface as a search engine should be and of course the ad blocking feature is a wonderful thing. After several years of using Google, Explorer, Edge, Safari etc, DDG is very refreshing. The cynical part of me can’t help thinking what’s the catch? What am I giving up, what does DDG get in return for me seeing zero ads? But for now, I’m loving this app.

I really like this app in general. However with the last update it was like completely starting all over from the very beginning. When I opened the duck duck go app, I noticed all my favorites were gone. All my bookmarks were gone also. What gives? Why would an update cause this to happen??? I’m really annoyed by this. At least give some kind of advance notice or warning before a new update wipes everything out. NOT very happy…. Somebody dropped the ball. Fix this problem.

For me, DuckDuckGo is a must, and I would recommend it to anyone. It’s not as easy to use as Google, but it definitely beats being tracked every time you look something up. There’s a few little things that could be improved (like a smaller browser widget, because on my phone it covers up almost half of the wallpaper), but overall I love the app, and it’s great that they provide this safety measure with no fee!

Edit: Thank you! I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and was able to locate the widget. Thanks for the quick response. It is much appreciated. Great search engine. After the update the quick search widget dissapered. I loved that little widget. Only other thing that could make it even better would be to add a multiple tabs part.
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Good news! The search widget is back. We rolled it back out in the latest update today. Please let us know if that works better for you. Thanks!

I use DuckDuckGo on my PC browser as my search engine of choice. My concerns over privacy and security demand DDG. However, the DDG app goes a step further as my preferred news app. The feeds on the homepage fullfill most of my news reading needs. Well done DDG!

Simply the best search app out there. Fast and has an awesome inbuilt browser. Replaces, slow google search and heavy chrome. The news reader is an added plus. This is the app of the future.

Weird name, weird logo. Looks childish and cheapo. Its anything but. Works extraordinarily well. Change settings to use external browser (Opera Mini for speed) as the default is a bit 3g heavy. Add Region weighting for localised results (nice touch) It scores on true global results tho. Recommended Add image search for 5 stars!
