It’s a good app to see ships in navegable waters but it does have some needs of improvement. Most importantly latitude and longitude, at the very least, 10° lines is needed and when i first purchased the app, it was fairly user friendly. Now as time goes by I’m having to purchase more features or ships data is either delayed or not there all together.

It’s a great deal of fun to see the detailed info on the ships that I encounter. Marine Traffic is superb for learning more about these amazing craft. It’s easy to configure and use for a casual enthusiast like myself. When the oppurtunity presents itself, it’s gratifying to get a good photo of a ship and add it to the online library. And, for those that need in-depth/professional-level data, that is available through their subscription service.

Originally paid for this app a while back. They took away many of the original features, requiring extra payments if we want them back. They offer some free options BUT they continue to move more of their features to paid versions. Also, they now play video ads that pop-up randomly. Super annoyed.

it’s great but everytime I turn it on it says no connection. then a lot of the just scrolling through the map is very jerky when its loading. I have plane finder which is very accurate and quick and not jerky.. the planes just keep cruising along with no delay on the screen. but this new aspect of tracking ships I’m very excited about

Excellent app for tracking AIS transmit equipped vessels. It has limitations ofc, small vessels are not readily tracked if they are out of range of shore stations. Larger vessels show up on satellite as well, as do some yachts, but you have to pay .99c daily to view satellite data for ships.
