Update again: It has been over a year and a half, and this is still an issue. Is Microsoft even maintaining this app? Seriously, this is *still* the most broken Remote Desktop app I’ve ever used. Everytime I bring up the keyboard, the display zooms in and the cursor position is offset. I am then unable to zoom out. Please fix the zoom and mouse cursor issues. Does anyone even read these reviews? This app is broken. Fix it.
I only use this for simple tasks but why are the connection previews so massive? The previous version could at least squeeze four onto my phone screen but now it’s barely three. There should be an option for a list view without the thumbnail previews. The current option to turn off previews results in massive empty thumbnails occupying the same amount of space as the previews.
works sometime, other times stops connecting to the same PCs. If this app fails to connect once, it never seems to connect to the same server again, Keeps spinning at “configuring pc”. No response from the developers, in typical microsoft manner. A free app doesnt need to be garbage. If the devs anno support it then they should remove it from play store
I really appreciate the return to landscape-oriented previews, since I now see whole desktops & can quickly locate a particular machine among many with identical backgrounds. Some have mentioned preferring a 2-col layout, so the that should definitely be made into a setting. The only gripe I have is that we should be able to set custom display resolution, and I mean to set *exact* values; because when they don’t match the console there’s a big connection delay while all windows get resized.
I mean, honestly, just happy that this works as well as it does and to some degree for free. Most enterprise remote desktop solutions want a monthly subscription and are on par or worse.
Works, but having issues with the remote session’s scaling after pulling down keyboard for remote input. When you collapse the virtual keyboard and try to use the mouse to click on things, the cursor is offset from what is shown on the screen, so you have to aim off by some degree to click on things you intend to click on. Rather annoying. Need to disconnect and reconnect every time to restore functionality.
Everything works as expected, but the video quality is noticeably worse than remote desktop via macOS or Windows. I am using Samsung Dex and seeing this on a large monitor at 1440p, and the compression makes it ugly. I am on ethernet, can I not configure the stream quality? It’s such a shame that I keep my laptop around just because RD client on my phone is has poor visual quality.
Once you connect it works fine, once you come out and try to reconnect it does not connect status shows connecting. I then have to clear cache and storage and re-setup my PC. Review based on using Galaxy Tab A.
It works pretty good as the desktop version. Is there some way to add pc’s to groups? If you have multiple pc’s saved it quite annoying browsing through all to find the correct one.
Pros:Very reliable and fast Cons:need to offer more controls such as quality of the session, cursorand scrolling speed and sending commands such as windows key to remote pc rather than local device
Works well when you have a direct connection, but with some VPN set-ups NLA will fail which will make the connection stuck on “please wait”. Would be great if it was possible to disable this functionality.
It works at first but then cannot establish connection later. The workspace connection prompts that the username or password did not work when it was correct when input in a desktop. Not working on mobile device.
