Steam Link user reviews :

I have owned the Steam Link physical box for more than a year now. It is my preferred method of streaming my PC Games to my television. I also own an Nvidia Shield TV which I use to stream games that aren’t in my Steam Library. I installed the Steam Link app on my Nvidia Shield TV and it works incredibly well with the shield controller. However, I’m constantly facing issues of the Steam Controller suddenly becoming unresponsive while playing a game. I then need to exit the app, turn off the controller, then the controller back on and then load up the app again. Playing using the shield controller seems to work better, but I would prefer to use my Steam Controller. Since this is in beta I totally understand the bugs that were bound to encounter, and I want to thank you guys at Valve for keeping this incredible service going and constantly evolving. I hope you can investigate the issues I’m facing. Thank you!

I am very impressed with this and was waiting for awhile for it. I can play my steam games using my gaming laptop and MiBox3 now which is awesome. I only tested so far with one game but it ran very well with no input lag and this is through wireless connections mind you! Only issue I ran into was when the game was coming out of a load screen. The laptop showed the game but the MiBox3 was showing the load screen frozen. A quick restart of Steam Link had me right back in the game though. So I know that should be smoother as it approaches final. My only real complaint though is I use the ASUS Gamepad and can not bind the start button because its technically the “home” button on Android. I noticed you guys have disabled the back button on the controller allowing me to bind it as select without the app backing out. Perhaps there is a way to also disable home button on the controller so we can bind it to start button. Otherwise its awesome.

I’m really impressed by this app. Even in Beta, it works really well for me! I had a few connection problems but it’s probably my bandwidth. Set up was surpibgly easy too compared to the actual Steam Link box.

Tried this with my Google Pixel. It was extremely simple to setup and honestly I’m impressed with how well the touchscreen works in Steam Big Picture through the stream. There was some stuttering with audio and frame loss, and then the app crashed. Reconnect was easy, BUT after that couldn’t restore the audio, so 4/5 so far.
