When studying at Duke University, one of our founders started experiencing symptoms of depression. As an approach to depression relief, her counselor told her about some incredible research from the university. Dr. Bryan Sexton, associate professor in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke’s School of Medicine found: simply listing three good things in a particular way increased happiness more effectively than Prozac!

Practice daily self care with an easy 5 minute journal habit you can use to reflect on the happier moments of your day. You also might surprise yourself to learn that even on days you experienced depression or anxiety, you were able to find three good things you were grateful for.

Sometimes, we forget that all things must pass and it’s hard to get out of a dark mindset. Being forced to write positive affirmations about how your day went can help you find happiness where you previously could not. Scrolling through your Memories tab on rainy days can remind you that wellness has been, and will be abundant if you look. Lastly, after using our gratitude journal, you might learn that being “grateful” is just about as close to being “happy” as anything can be.

UC Berkeley & UC Davis launched a multi-year project on Expanding the Science and Practice of Gratitude. They found that people who regularly practice gratitude report:
A stronger immune system
Lower blood pressure
Higher levels of joy, positivity, and happiness
Acting with more generosity and compassion
Feeling less alone and isolated

Excellent, simple layout and ease of use. It’s a little limiting for me in the flexibility, I’d like to be able to record as many or as little good things as I want in a day and not be limited to 3 or 5. (I used to have a gratitude app that did this but it was discontinued). I have the same issue as a previous reviewer with the words chopped off, but this is because I have my phone text size larger than normal. It would be good if the layout dynamically adjusted to the text size.

Clean and simple design, easy to use, no ads, no unnecessary logins or permissions! I’ve seen this similar conecpt before; write and save little notes of the good things that happen, so you can look back and see/remember that not everything was bad. To focus on the good things is a hard skill to learn, but this is such a cute app to help learn it I may not always find 3 things but that’s ok; I’ll get there one day I love this app, I’m happy I found it, I would give more stars if i could <3
